Initially, my articles were only rejected by the Reaper. That cancellation was immediate. Cancellations by the editors of The Insider and SUN only occurred when specific policy and the names of those responsible for those policies and practices were published in the SUN. If HB255 served cooperative members why would anyone not want it known?
I do not know just who did what to cancel my voice in The Insider, Southern Utah News, and Richfield Reaper; but, I have been cancelled. In sync with the recent ownership change of the Southern Utah News, the new editor assured everyone that the character of the SUN would be preserved, and simultaneously with this assuring announcement, a revised policy for the submission and acceptance of Letters to the Editor was adopted. Then the editor, Ty Gant, summarily notified me that my submissions respecting Garkane policy and practice would not be printed. (The new owner of the Southern Utah News is Andy Gant, a member of the Garkane Board of Directors; and, the editor’s father. Mike Noel, was the chief sponsor of the legislative bills that transfer property ownership from property owners to the Garkane Board and CEO. Neal Brown, former editor/owner of the Southern Utah News, in charge of member services at Garkane and current editor of the Garkane quarterly publication, The Highlights, recently sold the SUN to the new owner.
Erica Walz, editor of The Insider, had agreed to publish my articles exposing Garkane policy and practice; but, she suddenly made an about-face and cancelled my voice respecting Garkane policy and practice at about the same time the SUN changed owners. (This web site is designed to counter efforts to suppress free speech and bury, erase, expunge what certain Garkane administrative personnel, CEOs, current and former legislators, affiliates and protectors do not want known. If all Garkane policy and practice was member friendly, it would be owned and defended. There would be no secrets, suppressions or, cancellations.)
